Why NPD?
Did you know…?
-
More than
50% of all sexual assaults occur within one mile of home.
-
There is
an average of 207,754 victims (age 12 and older) of rape and sexual assault
each year.
-
The median
age of victims of imprisoned sexual assaulters is less than 13 years old.
The National Predator Database (NPD) does what no
other listing of convicted sex offenders has ever been able to do, provide a
relational database of more than 850,000 known predators across all 50 states,
searchable by name, physical description, location, photograph or even a radius
of miles surrounding a central location, city or zip code. This database is
automatically updated and manually verified for correct information, best
photography and most accurate cross-referencing options.
Although the U.S. Department of Justice offers a listing of
databases, lists and contacts on a state-by-state basis, only a handful of
states offer advanced search capabilities, while others are still in the dark
days of written requests. Until now, it has been impossible to get an accurate
and current listing of all registered predators in any given area, anywhere in
the United States.
We continuously extract the public information from all 50 states
and immediately analyze this data, flagging errors in reconciling from
previously obtained data. Photos are also analyzed and sized, cropped and
magnified to provide a consistent look. On a typical day, we process over 3,000
records which were a result of changes in data or photos. In any typical week,
our registered sex offender database increases by 3,000-5,000 new predators.
In only a few clicks, you can
instantly identify a predatory threat to your community, school, neighborhood
and family. For pennies per day, you can have immediate access to the latest
information on sexual predators in your area. With The National Predator
Database, you can have peace of mind from knowing you are
proactively protecting those who most need protection.
